Must go back there!

Greetings from Canada.Diane at My Cottage Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17855098457081134408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922036496927837027.post-39365223021500755582010-05-19T21:25:10.732+01:002010-05-19T21:25:10.732+01:00Welcome Leavesnbloom and thanks for dropping by Id...Welcome Leavesnbloom and thanks for dropping by Idiot Gardener. I have been wondering if the outrageously pricey butchers on Holland Park Avenue is in cahoots with the council - perhaps they'll be selling locally bred sausages come Notting Hill Carnival?camillaphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05245844398206954552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922036496927837027.post-66860412708639794582010-05-19T09:32:43.457+01:002010-05-19T09:32:43.457+01:00Pigs in Holland Park? Mind you, I was in Tottenham, so if they'd put pigs in our local park they'd have been gone and butchered before you could say "Bluebells"!The Idiothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18345021580985320660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922036496927837027.post-62116696187757923232010-05-17T21:22:15.497+01:002010-05-17T21:22:15.497+01:00wow I'm surprised about the pigs. BTW, irresponsible dog owners are a pet irritation of mine. Ruins it for the rest of us.camillaphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05245844398206954552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922036496927837027.post-11074028465760159372010-05-14T20:46:40.068+01:002010-05-14T20:46:40.068+01:00That's really cool that they are using pigs to...That's really cool that they are using pigs to manage wildlands. Here, in California, we use goats. Pigs have become a pest animal here so we can't use them.
Most parks here don't allow dogs at all. Not even on lead. Too many people choose to not clean up after them and cause all sorts of other problems.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05607208465219962573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922036496927837027.post-48733984355332537382010-05-14T11:41:11.418+01:002010-05-14T11:41:11.418+01:00Hi Barbara and welcome - how nice to have a visit ...Hi Barbara and welcome - how nice to have a visit from Toronto. Now I feel a bit remiss in my description of the pigs in the park - they are in a big fenced enclosure that surrounds the woodland areas. (That's another thing about Holland Park - very pretty walks and pathways but lots of the planting is fenced off...) But pigs have been known to escape, so I'll be watching.camillaphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05245844398206954552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922036496927837027.post-55143509310140981922010-05-14T02:02:58.124+01:002010-05-14T02:02:58.124+01:00I think that's remarkable to have pigs roaming...I think that's remarkable to have pigs roaming about a city park. Here's my silly question - how do they get them to stay put and not wander off looking for something even more delicious? Know what you mean about signs in the park - the last time I was in the Toronto Botanical Gardens I think they had just enlarged the sign to include at least 4 more rules...Barbarapchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09990013417063903768noreply@blogger.com
